Ken Tuchtan, 240.731.1675

Ken commenced his residential real estate career after graduating from Maryland University and was a million dollar award winner for all of his eight years in sales. He then became the Sr. VP Ancillary Services (mortgage, title, settlement, warranty) for the first company acquired by Coldwell Banker outside of California. His department made more profit than all but three of the fourteen offices. During his 18 years with Coldwell Ken was the East coast Regional Director for the original Coldwell Banker franchise venture. At the end of five years, this region was the most profitable of the five national regions. He then became President of his original Washington DC Coldwell Banker company and immediately merged it with the recently purchased Russell T. Baker firm in Baltimore to create the third largest CB company owned entity in the nation with 62 offices and 2,300 agents. Ken operated this entity for over five years. He returned to the CB franchise division to coordinate the “breakup” of large company owned territory throughout the east coast into salable franchise units.

Ken joined the Prudential Real Estate Affiliates (PREA) as Sr. VP responsible for resolving legal issues created by the PREA purchase of Merrill Lynch Realty in areas where single office PREA franchisees had been sold. Once the legal entanglements were resolved, he coordinated and introduced ancillary services (mortgage, title, settlement, warranty) to all affiliates as a revenue source.

Ken left PREA to take advantage of a technology that was making its presence felt in real estate by joining GHR Assoc. to pursue the private delivery of computerized loan origination (CLO) to Realtors. GHR was the spearhead of this movement. The program offered mortgage revenue and multiple lenders within the realty office and provided services here-to-fore not available to the buyer, sellers and sales associates.

Ken returned to the franchise world as the Regional Director for the Maryland / Washington DC region of Keller Williams Realty. He turned the region from a loss position to the fastest growing of 31 regions nationally and won region of the year twice and most profitable region.

Ken then was offered a position as VP for First American Title responsible for coordinating Title Joint ventures and Marketing Agreements nationally with Regions or Market Centers of Keller Williams Realty. This position allowed him to again deliver services and programs to buyers, sellers and agents and also enhance the revenue stream for the Realtor entities.

Ken and his wife Lisa, a senior executive with an international commercial real estate firm live in Bethesda, Maryland not far from his twin daughters. Tyler, married lives in Gaithersburg, Maryland and the second, Lindsay to be married in June lives in Arlington, Virginia.
