A question I ask in every city I go to is, “Who is the innovator in your market?” All too often I either get a response that doesn’t make any sense (“XYZ Realty is offering better splits.”) or the broker will tell me there is no innovator in his/her market. In my opinion, outside of a handful of exceptions in certain markets around the country, there probably isn’t a company in your market that could legitimately be described as an innovator.
